The Avonworth Key Club ran a table at the Club Fair on Wednesday, September 25, and provided students with information about the club and a Google classroom code.
Key Club is open to all High School grade levels and provides students with a wide variety of optional community service opportunities. Students may use these volunteer hours to be accepted into the National Honors Society, an organization seeking high-achieving students beginning during one’s junior year through senior year. Contact Mr. Como for more information.
Maddy Hanlon, the club’s secretary, managed the table and answered questions from students. “I encourage students to join Key Club because it’s great leadership building,” she said. “I made a bunch of friends through it.” She detailed the importance of collecting community service hours in your high school years.
Please contact Mrs. Waddell at mweyant@avonworth.k12.pa.us for any questions. The club’s Google Classroom code is sx6x3x7.
The next meeting is Thursday, October 3, after school. Key Club typically meets on the first Thursday of each month.
